What is coaching?  Coaching is best described by explaining what it is not…

Coaching is not consulting.  Consultants come to a business, assesses the situation, give advice – and leave.

  • A coach and client enter into a long term engagement to move the client forward. In my coaching process the question is “what’s right” not what’s wrong?”

Coaching is not therapy or counseling. Therapy and counseling look at the past, but coaching starts at the present and looks forward.

  • In my coaching process we look at where the client is, where they want to go and create an action plan.

Coaching is not teaching. Teachers impart knowledge and give quizzes.

  • In my coaching process I ask questions to assist my clients in getting clear on the issue.

Coaching is a process that helps people and businesses clarify goals, values and vision.

Coaching identifies the gap between where the client is and where they want to be, then develops an action plan to get them there.
